Ministry of Primary Industries

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Insite Facades completed a 600sqm Fundermax Rainscreen project for Macrennie Construction in 2018, installing Rainscreen elements for the Ministry of Primary Industries new Head Office at the Auckland Airport.  The facility is set to be the home and training centre for drug dogs and other customs related business. This project was completed over a 3-month period.

The client was thrilled with the result, and the building received the Supreme Award from the Window and Glass Association of New Zealand for a digitally printed glass curtain-wall adjoining our Rainscreen elements.

As you can see from the photos, we achieved a magnificent Rainscreen facade.  This project was made technically challenging by the need to grain-match individual panels for that extra quality touch.

Perfectly colour-matched face-fixed rivets hide a 25mm cavity on an aluminium bracket and rail system.  Engineering was required to panel fix centres at 600mm due to the Airports high wind zone area.
