Panmure - Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative (AMETI)

City: Panmure Auckland
Architect: Opus Architects,
Construction Company: New Zealand Strong
Completed: 2014

When the the Auckland Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative (AMETI) tendered the soffit and fascias to the huge canter levered canopy in High Pressure Laminate, we knew that we could achieve a solution for them.

Together with Fundermax FR HPL distributor, and our products and team experience we provided a durable, colour fast, solution that would met the design and longevity of this public amenity building.

Stage 1 of AMETI was completed in November 2014 with the upgrade of the Panmure train station.  The $180 million dollar project, brought the station into the 21st century, and it now gives the eastern corridor patrons something to be proud of. Four years on, Insite are still pleased with what they achieved.

The specification called for a secret fixed 10mm product, which required precise set-out and planning by the project team. Using our automated router board cutting CNC machine and boring unit, we were able to provide precise pre-installation workflow.

With the prefab out of the way, our project team, knowing the importance of the set-out and critical sequencing of the installation, worked to the builders program.  We were able to deliver hundreds of panels to fit like a modern day jig-saw puzzle, as per the programme and budget.

With a shadow gap in the negative detail, the panels went up quickly, which would have otherwise highlighted our set-out shortcomings. However with a strong team onsite with meticulous QA, the panels went in as planned.
